    Hello all.

I'm a manager of information systems and systems administrator in Boston, MA, USA, and all around classic computer geek. I've had the same phone since 2005 (a Palm Treo 650) and have been eagerly awaiting a good replacement.

I've been running some form of Linux or BSD distro since 1998, so Android seemed like the perfect OS for my next "mobile device."* It was just a matter of time before decent hardware came out.

I just got my Droid Incredible a few days ago and am thrilled. Now I just need root and life will be complete! (Okay, I may need a few other things as well. Like a good e-book reader app. :D)

*The term "mobile device" or "handheld device" has become common parlance for cellphone or any small, networked, electronic thing. But really, anything that is portable and has a particular purpose is a "mobile device." Scissors are a "mobile device." A can opener is a "mobile device." I am a "mobile device." Okay... 'nuff said. /rant
