Hey everyone Just recently purchased a captivate. It is rooted, ssh access etc. The one thing I cannot find is the sms.db. I would like to be able to find and back it up my own way not with an app. I have checked /data/data and still cannot seem to find it. Thanks for any assistance. Does anyone know the sms db hangs out? Thanks j

What is ssh access? Do you mean SU permissions? Set your USB settings on your phone to mass storage and then check USB debbugging and plug your phone to your pc and mount to your pc, you can copy and paste the files to a safe place on you pc from there. There are also several apps on the market that can back everything up. Get the paid version of ROM Manager and Titanium Backup, they will sve you lots of time and headache if you plan to mess with your phone. Also head over to Samsung Android Devices @ xda-developers and read, read, read.
