(currently trying to root my HTC Desire but comes up with missing CID error oh well such is life any advice most appreciated and anything I find out I will post). Take care

Don't know if you have A HD or reg but try this forum first Desire - All Things Root. Hope that helps. Welcome to AF.

Hi bobcat331 thanks for the reply. I tried using unrevoked but sadly no joy. I have reg Desire with android 2.2 froyo HBoot 0.93 SLCD. Thanks for the link

Hey Guys are there any alternative methods to rooting my HTC Desire other than unrevoked as it keeps coming up with missing CID error or should I just hold tight for an update to 3.3 (tried 3.2 no joy ) ... Any suggestions...Thanks

Unfortunately per our HTC Desire rooting guide there doesn't seem to be many alternatives for rooting the Desire.

In reading one thread in the Desire "All Things Root" forum I did note a recommendation to contact the Unrevoked team on Twitter as they might be able to provide some assistance. Have you tried this?

Thanks guys the noob is finally rooted and booted... Now for some roms I used unrEVOked-3-2-Windoze to bypass the missing CID validation error
