Nexus 10 - Graphics jerky?General

    Hi all,

I have a smasung galaxy s2 which I really like.

I recently bought a Nexus 10 and was very surprised to find that the graphics and general performance seem better on my galaxy phone.

For example the game stick tennis. It loads quicker on the phone and the menu selections / responses are faster / crisper on the phone.

The ball travelling across the court on my phone is super smooth and lovely and on the nexus 10 is noticably jerky with seemingly lower refresh rate.

Can this be right? - seems a bit disappointing to me :(

Hi arcusflyer :ciao: Welcome to AF

Are you playing this game in a browser? In Chrome? If so, try another browser. Chrome seems laggy in most things to me.

Everything on my N10 seems snappy and smooth, that I can remember anyway.

Hi - thanks for the reply. On both the phone and N10 I am playing the stick tennis game as a downloaded app.

Hmm .. I'm not sure what the problem might be. Do you have a link? I'll try it when I get home. Do you have a problem with other apps?

I have to take back what I said about Chrome. I just updated it and they've done a great job getting it optimized. It is much smoother now.

BTW .. I just tried a game called Fun Run from the play store. I had no lag at all. I played much lately, but I remember The Bard's Tale being smooth also. You might try getting Android Assistant from the play store. In the tools, use the option to clear caches and see is that helps.

Keep in mind the resolution on the nexus 10 is much higher than your phone. The graphics in this should handle the job though. But all else equal, it would require more graphics power to run on the Nexus 10.

Now I've never seen any lag or jerkyness. Do you see this on other games or just this one. The developer may need to do some updates.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yea maybe the huge resolution of the n10 is to blame. Atmazzz you have the same devices as me. Perhaps you could download stick tennis (free) and see if you see the same.

Try going into developer options and check mark the setting that is Force 4X MSAA. This should help your stuttering graphics.

Sorry, I missed this post yesterday. I'll try Stick Tennis today.

You might also try in developer options, change window animation scale to .5, change transition animation scale to .5, and try checking the box for force GPU rendering.

Tried Stick Tennis. The menu is very choppy. Actual tennis seems OK, maybe slight lag. Force 4x msaa seems to help a little but I couldn't tell a lot of difference.
