Root Nexus 7 bootloader issue

a bit of a long shot here. I have a rooted and unlocked nexus 7 WiFi (2012) and want to put it back to stock. But when in bootloader I get unknown on windows. And when I connect to do the same using Ubuntu it just keeps saying waiting for device. Is there any way of fixing this. I am using android 4.3. If there is more info needed please let me know.

So wait does fastboot not recognize your device when it goes into bootloader mode?

Cheers. Yeah I get waiting for device using Ubuntu terminal. and with windows says devise malfunctioned.

This is the message when I connect my nexus in bootloader mode to my pc. This is a new installation as well.

There is a toolkit called Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT) that has a very comprehensive driver guide built in.

Follow the driver guide, reboot and see if things get rolling.
