Ok, so i have a Nexus one and a 2010 ford focus, the major problem i'm having is that i'm not able to connect my phone through usb in my car. Yet the G1 i had was able to connect through usb with no problems. If someone has a ford focus with sync and a nexus one and are trying to mount your phone via usb in your car, are you having the same issue?
and does anyone know why the nexus one (which is like 23523312 more advanced than my g1) cant mount with ford sync?

btw, my friend has an evo and his phone mounts with no problems.

The Nexus One is a developer phone. Try disabling USB debugging.

its currently disabled, but sync doesn't recognize my phone as a usb drive. What could be different that would cause the g1 to be recognized and the nexus one not to?

Well, also remember that the Nexus One is independent of carriers. Perhaps Ford worked with carriers to make those phones compatible? Also, is the EVO running Froyo?

Did you turn on USB storage? I don't think a computer or Sync will see your SD card unless you do.

Check your cable, it may only be supplying power and not data. I got a cheap cable from Amazon and it doesn't support data. The cable that comes with the phone is good. I have an Escape with Sync so I'll give it a try when I get home. Hope that helps.

Have you seen multiple reports of the N1 not working with Sync? For all we know, this could be an isolated case.

Why don't you just use the bluetooth connectivity to gain access to what is on the phone - or to play through the phone?

i do use bluetooth connectivity but i'd prefer to be able to use the voice commands to play certain songs while driving. Its safer.
