I'm about to get a nexus arriving in the next few days. Aside from a screen protector, are there any good cases/protection I can buy that will help protect the phone?

no offense, but that site looks extremely shady...I wouldn't get anything from there until they give you more contact options.

There is no need for a screen protector, all it is going to do is mess up the sensitivity of the screen to your touch and make it dimmer. There is really no need for a case either as the phone will not scratch, at least easily. Only thing useful may be a little rubber case around the edges in case of drop, but if you drop the thing on the screen and hit the edge of a table with it, it is pretty much screwed with or without a screen protector.

I have never used any kind of case or screen protector with my iphone/G1/N1 and the only thing I ever had was a very very slight scratch on my iphone screen I think from the time I sat on my keys and phone together in my back pocket.

People need to get a grip, take off the car bra's, the cell phone cases, the key fob protectors, the plastic on your chairs and lamps, and just live your life. The phone will be well outdated and only worth $50 in a year, so just enjoy it.

I ordered a TechSkin from Skinomi:
New Arrivals - Nexus One

It's more a screen protector than a case, but based on the reviews is anti scratch as well.....I ordered the total skin, not just the front one.
Reviews are good, item is in stock with free shipping.
I hope it's a good product!

As of right now only the cheap off brand companies like Amzer have produced cases.

I understand where you are coming from but tell this to the people who already broke their screens. I don't see myself scratching my screen, but having a screen protector while not perfect will help it from cracking a little if i do drop it. (IE invisible shield, not the cheap plastic) Also for cases, my previous phones i had dropped on concrete always dented so people get cases so when they do drop it, it won't scratch or dent the phone so it looks semi decent and at least the phone will still function. Also these rubber ones gives the phone a little more texture and girth so its easier to hold.

You're just not a case/screen protector person, thats all...

^^^Truth be told.

I baby my phones to begin with. Also i really just want to experience my phone the way it should be, nothing extra on top of my screen, i want it to be as responsive as ever. And i dont want some odd rubber surrounding my phone. i purchased this specific phone because it has an AMAZING design (IMO) and no way am i covering that up, i could of waited for other "super phones" but all the rumored ones dont have the style of The Nexus and i really want to show that off, throw some rubber on this and i bet you everone will be saying "Hey nice iphone!" instead of "Oh, whats that?"

But i totally understand why certain people do want those things, personally i know im annoyingly careful with my phones so i might as well experience it naturally. Oh and like the previous poster, i do not keep my phone for more than a year, and maybe even less with this phone since i got it unlocked i still have my T-Mobile upgrade sitting and ready for something.

I don't think the OP was looking for opinions on whether or not they should get a screen protector/case. They were asking if anyone had any recommendations, so clearly they have already made the decision to get one.

I'm not getting a case/screen protector for my phone, but I hear a lot of people recommend the ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD for other devices.

If you go for the full body protection, it probably won't be protecting your phone from dents, just scratches. Also some have reported a not completely easy application, especially around the corners of devices, but it's one of the best out there for keeping scratches off and giving a bit better grip.

Can't comment on cases as I haven't seen any good ones. I think there is another thread on here somewhere about cases, including clip-ons for the back part (which are, IMO, the most ugly designs ever. Plaid? Really?). I recommend having a gander in there for some more ideas.

Personally, if I buy any accessories I'll be waiting til HTC/Google start selling them.

I like using screen protectors on my phone due to the fact it helps protect the LCD screen from dirt/dust and even if you dropped it screen first. Heads up don't get the mirror screen protector, they are hard to keep clean and it leaves your hand prints all over.

My friend, on the other hand, does not have a screen protector on his Phone and his screen is scratched quite badly. For some unfathomable reason, he keeps his Phone in the same pocket as his keys. Needless to say, the keys win.

The way I see it is that the above-linked screen protector is so cheap that it's worth a shot, and it means you don't have to worry about being too careful where you keep your Phone Touch. I'm definitely glad I have it. Just make sure that you take the time to affix it properly otherwise it will be noticeable and really cheapen the look of your Phone Touch.

I always have to have a screen protector from day 1 on every nice phone i get and a case. Its just not logically smart to spend 600$ and then go around carrying it in your pocket while keys and loose change are grinding all over the phone. (Yes this will make scratches) I really love the invisible shields im not sure if they actually have any for the N1 yet, hopefully..

Guys, do NOT get the ZAGG invisible shield, I purchased it and the bottom pieces don't fit the phone correctly...it's pretty far off as a matter of fact. I have purchased Zagg's invisible shield for many of my products such as 2 blackberries, 3 ipods, even recommended it to many of my friends but the Nexus One shield cutouts are horrible. I am currently using Phantom Skinz and I couldn't be more happier.

your bottom pieces fit fine? Near the 4 metal contacts? Because I couldn't get them to align correctly, I had to stretch/alter my shield for it to fit.

They fit the metal contacts. Mine is not perfect to every crease but I am satisfied. I fit the bottom piece before folding to the back of the phone

They are, I've not got round to summoning the energy to do mine yet. I have never noticed that they significantly reduce screen accuracy or sensitivity though.

Ya I've used the invisible shield on my G1. While I do like the fact that it protects my case and screen from scratches, it does make the entire phone look a lot uglier than it has to. I'll probably buy a dcmugen case off ebay, it comes with a screen protector too which I found lots of people seem to like when they received it on other phones.

the screen protectors aren't perfect. it's super crystal clear, strong, and easy to apply. but fingernail scratches showed on my old e72 one. it's coming with the case i just bought (grey) and i can't be bothered to pay 15 for a screen that's marginally better.

Just installed my Invisible Shield. While I maintain that this is the best way to protect your gadget from scratches and maintain the look of the device, I'm disappointed with the Invisible Shield for the N1 compared to other devices I've fitted:

It seems to not cover the corners as well as normal. The bottom corners are left very much uncovered.

There are a lot of parts, meaning a lot of joins. Why is the piece which covers the strip where the track ball is placed in 2 rather than 1 piece across the body? The same with the piece which covers the engraving strip again 2 parts which meet in the middle where one would be easy to install.

I understand that joins are necessary where battery covers need to be removed etc but I feel that this product could have had 2 or 3 less.

That said, I don't see anything better at the moment if you want this type of protection.

By the way, easier to install than I remembered. Just make sure you apply plenty of the included solution to the sticky side of the pieces and keep your fingers wet as well.

Wish there were screen shots of the gray and black one on a nexus phone so I can have an easier time deciding which color I want.
