I've had my N1 for little over a week now and yesterday while it was cradled in the car dock, noticed the compass needle pointing the wrong direction while using the Google Navigation app. It's quite odd, since it seems to get North and South right, but transposes East and West. For example, if I'm traveling North-East, it'll point to North-West. If I'm traveling Sout-West, it'll point South-East. Anyone experience something similar or have any troubleshooting-tips?

    Regards.

Download the Compass app from the Market, it should ask you to move the phone in figure eight shapes for calibration.

Obviously you don't need to app to wave the phone about, but the display will at least let you know if it's accurate.

Yep, I came across that the other day when using an OS app - the N/S was transposed. I guessed it was confused as I had the phone at a funny angle. I waggled it about a few times and it corrected.
