Help No 3G data while on Bluetooth call?

Is this something that is "industry standard" or an issue with the phone itself? I've noticed lately that when on a BT call, via my car's Pioneer AVIC 700 HU, I am unable to get any data via 3G (Google maps traffic and stock quotes do not refresh, web page tests failed as well). My N900s FM transmitter would stop when using BT, but I wouldn't think that 3G would be affected.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I never really use BT, for headsets at least, but do use it for the AVIC's built-in mic/speakerphone for hands-free.

i dont have this issue. i use a car bt and a plantronics pro

I found this with my build of HTC Desire on 2.1 and 2.2 (I believe; it may only be one or the other) but haven't used it with my Defy as I now route my calls through my car's audio jack - possibly responsible for the speaker loss!

I think I did have an issue with the Defy where I lost data during a normal call, so it may not just be during BT.

It looks like I'm able to get data while on a call, using my Bose BT headset (I do not endorse, nor support Bose products, but I got it as a Christmas present...it does sound surprisingly good though ). So it may be an issue with how my AVIC HU manages BT.

FWIW, I did a "BT only" firmware update from Pioneer not too long ago, so I'll check to see if there is another. The AVIC's BT firmware is updated independently from the system firmware.
