    Hi,
I recently purchased a HTC Desire HD from Ebay. I found that I am unable to use HTC Hub on it. When I tried to install it online, I was asked to sign in throught google. When I signed in through gmail, there was some other problem, mentioning that google play store did not come installed with my mobile etc.etc., I dont know what to do.Even my seller is not responding.Other problems with the phone..
    1. Screen does not lock at all.
    2. Personalize option in setting is non functional. whenever i click on personlaize, it goes to home screen.
    3. HTC likes also does not open..

Can anyone help me on this.

    Thanks
    Praveen.

Can you go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and tell us what is written there?

Lets see what we are dealing with.

To get the Google Play Store, simply open up the market app.

You may need to sign into a google account if you haven't done so already

Yup, Metha is correct. You are on an older version of HTC's ROM for the DHD, so it probably is still called the Android Marker on your device. But it should update itself.

You may also want to check if a software update is available for your device. The latest official release for your phone is Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0. Some regional phones apparently do not have an official Android 2.3.5/Sense 3.0. Well, at least one user reported that in the past.

Do you have an app called Android Market?

    To check for updates:

Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for updates

Maybe we should do a factory reset first though:

Settings > Storage > Factory data reset
