Ok I am running 12.5 and trying to get answers over on Xda is like wadding through a junk pile. I asked a few questions and still get no answers.

My first one is, is Nonsensikal a cache to cache rom or a apps 2nd? It may seem stupid but I remember most froyo roms are cache to cache. I have my sdcard setup for cache, and not apps 2nd. Never got a response and I asked 3 times over at Xda.

My second is, is there any real big differences going from 12.5 to 13.2? I have had very little problems with this rom, well more of annoyances then problems. Like when my battery is below 40% the speaker phone won't work, I can listen to music just no speaker phone. Also below 40% sometimes my lock screen is slow to unlock. I will swype it across and it will get stuck for a few seconds. I will try setcpu but I have found that it can sometimes cause me more problems then what it will fix. I have read all the threads about setcpu, and getting it set right, how to increase battery life. I follow the directions and I don't get very good results, so setcpu is a last ditch effort to salve this problem. I may just leave it alone if I have to deal with setcpu.

    Thanks for your time.:)

As far as I know, the only Eris ROMs that are cache2cache are the ones contributed to by Zach.xtr - xtrROM, xtrSENSE, and Vanilla 2.0.4, also a 2.1 (but a Cyanogen as opposed to an HTC frameworks ROM). I think that Tazz Froyo supports the 2.1, ext partition version of apps2sd, but all of the Froyo ROMs support the official Froyo apps2sd - but only for apps that were developed to support it.

IIRC (from the first page of the Nonsensikal post), 13.2 changed the notification lights so that it flashes the LED rather than the Trackball for third-party apps. SikYou also updated to the latest Cyanogem build at the time of release, plus he added Conap's CFS V8 kernel and defaulted to the smartass CPU governor.

But, seriously, what does it take - maybe 10 minutes to read through the last few pages of the xda-developer's thread for Nonsensikal? I haven't read up in the last couple of days myself, but it certainly doesn't take long to go through it.

I read through most of the posts, I got tired of people bitching about a problem or how their isn't a problem with pandora. How the rom isn't any better, and on and on. I generally will not make a new thread unless I can't find my answer I need. I spend lots of time over there and here and I am going to see another website now. ;) Well thanks for your time.

I usually go to the last page on the XDA-Developer's thread and flip backward until I find where the new ROM version posts begin. It really doesn't take very long at all. I haven't been visiting the XDA forums enough apparently, I didn't even know that 13.2 was released! LOL! Off to download and flash! ;p

I just flashed the 13.2 black&blue, now even though I have read about the smarta$$ and the blah blah whatever stuff, it means nothing untill I see how it really works. I am just getting settled into it. I guess I should have made myself clearer in my post of what I was asking, but no big deal. Thanks for thoughts and help. I will post what I have noticed in normal guy talk. It seems to be snappy, and just like the 12.5 so far.

I had the newest version (13.2) and reflashed 9.5. For me, the 9.5 is the most stable. With the newer version, I was having problems with my text message threads opening the wrong person! I was sending texts to incorrect people. Also, my battery life was taking a huge hit.

I do miss the shortcuts in the pull down notification bar, but I will live. The developer puts a lot of work into the ROM, so I'm sure there will be an even newer version before I know it.

I tried to download 9.5 because over on droid eris site, I read in the thread that 9.5 was rock solid. It took like 3 hours to do it, I was afraid it didn't download right so I didn't flash it. I hope the rom just get's better, I'm not a 2.2 guy but I really like this one. I run XtrRom 4.6 and love how it works, but for some reason this rom caught my attention.

Geez, just caught up on the XDA thread... lots of drama right now, lol. Kobel, definitely looking forward to your opinion of 13.2. I'm still on 12.5, unsure if worth upgrading for.

Just about 3 pages of drama.;) That's why I was asking over here for some answers on the cache to cache, and apps second. Now one of the answers was apps 2nd, I partitioned my sdcard for apps 2nd. I followed the directions of setting the parameters of the partition then ext2 to ext3. I flashed the rom and after it loaded up it didn't recognize the sdcard. Wiped the card and set it to fat32 or cache to cache. So in my opinion it is cache to cache.

This is the first time that I have used setcpu on a rom in a long time. I only did it because I read over at XDA that it fixed some problems with the rom and how pandora worked. Of course its hard to tell with all the, well go read and tell me. :)

Well I have tried chomp sms and the regular messaging service and nothing is sending. Now I can receive messages, so either it isn't sending or it is sending to the wrong person. This could be funny. put everything back to stock nothing. I will have to search for an answer, in the swamp.

Went into the swamp and came to this, I may have broken my messaging. Well the hardware may have broke. I did a nand restore 12.5 nothing, flashed on another sdcard XtrRom 4.65, nothing. Trying again, if it doesnt work I may just unroot and reroot, if still nothing time for a referb.

Update on the messaging thing. I switched my wifes rom to v12.5, and she receives my texts, so it was her rom. Weird it just started all of a sudden.

I flashed Nonsensikal v 13.7 last night. So far, I LURVE it! Very responsive, smooth. I have not had any camera issues or lag. It seems to be running well! Previously, I had v12.5 and thusfar, I do see a very, very slight improvement with 13.7. If anyone is running 12.5 and is on the fence about whether to flash 13.7, I'd say you really aren't going to notice a huge difference between the two.

As with most very well put together roms, updates don't really change that much. I have been through many updates on XtrRom, and the developer adds a few apps, removes a few apps, wallpapers, notifications, ringtones, and they may change a kernel or some other change that we may not understand. We may or may not notice the new smarta$$ setting or how apps close faster or more aggressively. What matters if it works for us.

Nonsensikal is apps2sd not apps to cache. However 2.2 ROMs store apps on the regular fat32 partition, and (as you've found) won't recognize an SD card that had an ext partition added, nor will the 2.2 ROM even boot up if an Ext partition exists.
The Ext partition is required for 2.1 ROMs that use apps2sd. This makes it a bit of a bother if you'd like to bounce between 2.1 and 2.2 ROMs and use apps2sd on both. You can however move between Zach's xtr ROMs and 2.2 ROMs if you use apps2cache on the xtr ROM - which doesn't require the ext partition.

Anyone running 13.2 having problems with it being slow? On the primary Nonsensikal thread there are folks commenting that they've dropped back to 9.5 because the current version is too slow and they feel that 9.5 was the best. I'm currently running FroShedYo V6 but I'm planning on flashing Nons V13.2 sometime later today - but now I'm curious as to whether it's really slower or just some folks are having random problems (which seems to be true of every ROM).
KPG I think you went back from 13.7 to 13.2, how's it been for you?

I'm on 12.5 and it's snappier than ever. It seems like every time I flash an update, Sik updates the next day. My wife's phone is still on 9.5 and it seems slow to me compared to my phone.

I am on 12.5 and have had no problems, 13.2 you may need to run setcpu in order to speed it up properly. 9.5 is very stable from what I have read, but I have only used 10.8.1 and 12.5.
