not charging when on multimedia station - why??

i put my phone on the mutlimedia station each night before bed, and frankly whenever I'm at home so i know where the bloody thing is, but it's not charging on it any more. i've been getting low battery messages for the last few days and have no idea what happened to change it. any suggestions?

just found one thing that could have been killing my battery! the silly toggle app hadn't been set back to the normal time out. much as i like having that one button to deal with on the home screen am thinking that going thru the app> developement method may be safer. but could this cause it to not charge when on the dock? i'd think that since it's plugged in the battery wouldn't be much of an issue.
