you cant unlock, you cant flash, you cant do anything

tmobile uses a gsm/hspa+ combo

the frequencies dont matter, its a totally different network technology

...bottom line is, there is no way to use a tmobile device on metropcs

False. I have a Galaxy Note II from T-Mobile, and I am currently using it on metropcs, LTE included. I just had to update my modem.bin Yes there were a few painful days of only having 3g/H/H+, but once I got the modem updated with heimdall, I was good as gold

How do you update your modem.bin file?

Grabbed the latest firmware file from sammobile (make sure you get the right one for your phone/previous carrier), extracted the tar.md5 from that, extracted the modem file from that, flashed it with heimdall (linux > windows), done.

I am on the T889 from T-Mobile and have been using metropcs since day one. I had to unlock it and I used my local fix a phone guy to do that for like 10 bucks. But if you want to root the phone the easiest way is either from the phone with kingroot from the play store or with CF-Auto-Root that you must use a pc and although it is a beginners root it is still more advanced
