Note taking app with multiple tag categories?

I've been searching through countless apps without luck, trying to find a simple note taking app that allows for multiple ( more than 50) tag categories.

Can anyone recommend such a program I can use that syncs between my phone (Galaxy Note2) and desktop?...other than a cloud based "Evernote" type of app.

gtasks can have multiple categories (lists). But each note can have only one category. I guess that's NOT a true "tag" feature You'd have to embed tag like #tag1, #tag2 in the note and use gtasks search feature for true multiple-tag functionality.

I use Onenote - not sure of the tag 'limit' though. Oh, and you have to sync through the "cloud".

Apart from that it's exactly what you want .....
