It may be faster to get a replacement from Verizon. If you call tech support they will send a replacement handset with overnight shipping, all under warranty.

This is exactly why moto pulled that 2.1 sbf from everywhere with those C&D letters. Now they are going to be footing the bill for all these bricked phones. Congrats on reinforcing to motorola why they needed and will continue to need to lock down their phones from the public. I hope some brave soul from moto leaks out that 2.2 sbf for you all, but if not I hope verizon tags your asses with the bill.

Or they should just quit with all the locked bootloader b/s. Then I suppose tech support could have avoided bricked phones in the first place, or even solved the problems over the phone.

iPhone is great for out of the box performance with no end user control

Android is great for open source development allowing users and developers to push the bounds of technology (which all cell phone users gain from). Lets keep it this way.

2.1 sbf file or not. the update still froze my phone. and Moto changing the signature on the bootloader is the reason they are sending out phones. why not give a 2.2 sbf file to the Verizon stores, or make one available to people whose phones were bricked at update? BTW factory reset after failed update put me in the 30.03 bootloader.

Ahhh no Moto changed the keys so that sbf would be render unusable. It was a dick move to hinder the mod community. They didn't have to add a last minute key change and they could have also made an announcement. They sabotaged it and they did it deliberately. Ask yourself why did they have to change the keys and signature on the boot loader? No one had them the boot loader wasn't cracked and they didn't make this change in the 2.3.15 leak which only came out less than a week before the OTA. They should fix it or TAG MOTO ASS with the bill because if they hadn't done that or if they had told the masses that the sbf would brick your phone after the OTA (because they were changing all the keys) none of these phones would be bricked now. .

BTW I think you'd make a good moto employee, if you're not already.

Maybe a silly question, but has anybody tried the 2.2 sbf for the droid 2? Not sure how, or if, they'd be different, just curious.

I wouldn't suggest it. Besides the fact that it has different hardware it's probably has different keys also. Even if the keys are the same as the old X BL the software is probably not compatible. But I'm just guessing so go ahead a try and report back your findings:D

    My Issue:
As we all know after the OTA a lot of the Paid Apps do not appear in the Market Place. For one Road Sync Paid Key.

I previously had my X Rooted,Leaked 2.2 Froyo. Then used the Build.Prop Fix. I was able to see my Paid Apps.

Well..I reflashed back 2.1 and wiped and got the 2.2 OTA last night.
Tried to use the Build.Prop Fix to see my Road Sync Key and BAM!

Stuck on M Screen. Before reading and being gusty. I flashed it back to 2.1.
BAD IDEA!!!!! Now stuck @ BootLoader 30.03 Err:A5,70,70,001F screen.

Luckily I went to Verizon and they are sending me a replacement phone. But even more AWESOME! Is that I see there is a Leaked SBF 2.2 out in the wild.

I GIVE YOU REAL HACKERS/Modders MADDDDDDDD PROPS! Cuz the stuff/tools you give us...you guys R the real hackers and we just take what you give us and toy with it.

    -thanks.

Google fixed the market issues with 2.2 a few hours ago. If you waited a day, you would have been fine.

All of my paid apps now appear and I have them installed.

are you talking about the one on rootzwiki?
thats not a full SBF file, it will not revive a bricked phone
Us bricked people need a new (whole) SBF file...
