With many of us at the early upgrade pricing and our last NE2 pricing within grasp, I thought it apropos to make a place for those of us that have gained so much and contributed to this forum.

I know many will be jumping to the Vigor, Prime or Razr forums soon (as I have) but before you go, please stop and pay your respects to what is probably the most impactful phone any of us here have ever had and the most EPIC forum and thread that AF has ever had.

As you say goodbye, tell us where you are going and what phone you are leaning towards now.

Last one out, turn out the lights.

I'm actually eligible to upgrade now, but have no plans to do so. There aren't any phones out there that are as attractive as the DInc is.

I'll be using my Dinc until it dies, whether that's through my next renewal or whether that means my plan is forced to change. I have no interest in any of the current phones or any of the phones coming out in the future unless someone makes a phone with a similar form factor. I have no desire for a phone bigger than the Dinc and none of the phone manufacturers seems to have any interest in making anything smaller than 4.0-4.3" right now.

And on that day that my Dinc dies, then I will either switch back to a basic phone or see if another carrier has any phones similar in size to the Dinc and switch to them. For me personally, size is more important than power and everything Verizon has to offer right now is too big for my liking despite them being more powerful than my Dinc.

Galaxy Nexus @ release or very shortly after depending on root status and how fruitful the money tree is at the time. Looking forward to it especially since I learned we'll be getting 4G in mid November.

It's been a great ride, made a lot of friends. Many of which I'm sure to cross paths with again in the "Prime" forum. Already have seen many of you lurking there. :)

In the same boat. Unfortunately, Apple seems to be the only company committed to the tight, compact size. anyway, my DInc does everything I need it to do.

+1 here... Have no interest in any of the new phones coming out. Do not want a 4.3" phone and the Inc2 is not worth a new 2 year contract. I will stick with the Inc until it dies. When it does I will do the exact same thing. Basic phone or look for another carrier if Verizon still has no phones that interest me.

My upgrade comes at the end of January so I have some more time on my hands. I will be upgrading to the Prime when it comes out. In the meantime I'm hoping we get some CM8 love before the end so I can test drive the car before driving off the lot.

I'm the same way. 4" is just way too big. I'm hearing the new Nexus phone will be close to 5 inches. It's just insane. I can't put my hand around it. I can't reach my thumb across the screen. I'm not interested. If I want/need a big screen, I'll get a tablet.

Yeah, I'm keeping my Inc for now. I'm up for an upgrade currently, and my hubby has been up for one for a year now. He still has his Moto Droid (yes, the first one) but he has lots of trouble with it. I think he just didn't want to have to make a decision as to which new Droid to get! There just aren't any sexy phones out there right now and I'm going to wait.

Assuming all goes as planned, I'll be part of the mass exodus on December 28 (that date will make sense to the pre-orderers from the original epic Incredible thread). As long as no glaring weaknesses are exposed between now and then, it'll be the Vigor for me. Now, if the Vigor turns out to not be what everyone is expecting, then I'll still be here... no Samsung or Motorola phones for this guy, thanks.

I've had my DInc for over a year and it has been a great phone. I've had to get 4 replacements because of bad speakers but other than that the phone has been solid. I've been eligible for upgrade and I am going to test the waters of iOS 5 on the i4s for my upgrade. I figure I can probably get more for that if I decide to sell it than I can the Prime or something else. There are 16 smartphones in my family and extended family and 15 are iPhones (I'm only one on Android). I may be back to Android but I wanna see what the iOS experience is all about.

I can upgrade now and I am not.
When my area gets 4g I will wait until the next phone I like is safely rooted then grab it.
I want a phone with the largest screen possible without being obnoxiously big.
Right now I have my eye open for the Vigor, but even that seems like too soon.
There is nothing out right now with specs that impress me enough to get rid of my Dinc.
I bought it on launch day and it has worked flawlessly since day 1.

I like the thread idea OP. I'm stopping by one last time because I purchased an iPhone 4S yesterday to replace my original HTC Droid Incredible and I came back to learn how to unroot/restore back to original so I can sell it!

The Incredible has been an awesome phone for me, but like all good things, there must be a time when it comes to an end. I've been rooted for quite a while now and have been installing and playing around with custom roms ever since. Most recently I was on CM7.1. The customization of Android is incredible, and it has been fun to tinker everything. Good luck to all of you in your future (phone) endeavors.

Why unroot to sell it? Leave it root and offer to unroot if buyer wants it stock.

+1, in fact you have you potential buyer right here :D

Right now I have the ThunderBolt but with all of this thing's problems I have been toying around with buying another DInc, then selling my BlunderBold on eBay, and saving the cash from blunderbolt for the Vigor.

So JPiLLa, you have a PM :)

    This is a sad thread...LOL

Everyone in the Incredible forum helped me to decide that was the phone for me. I preordered and got it at launch. It has worked flawlessly, but I now want a phone with a bigger screen. I can upgrade now, and I'm just waiting for the Vigor/Rezound to launch. My DH will be taking over my Incredible until he decides what to do about getting and Iphone4s or waiting on an Iphone5.

I still have a year before my upgrade. I'm happy with my Dinc and hope to have it until it dies. I love the size and don't really care to get anything larger. In another year, I may change my mind though. The Vigor sounds fascinating, but I don't feel it's enough of an upgrade to make me want to switch.

Just cancelled my Verizon account and switched to Sprint and got the iPhone. Lower bill, and this phone is amazing so far.

Sad to see the Incredible go, but its about time to let it go to another owner. I am selling it locally on craigslist with all my accessories. Hope it finds a good home.

Exactly the same here. I never thought I'd switch from HTC, but the Galaxy Nexus has blown me away in terms of specs. I also prefer a bigger screen as I watch a lot of video on the phone between riding the train and at the gym. I have loved my Dinc since launch, but I'm tired of dealing with various bugs inherent to the phone (especially managing the "low space" bug on almost a daily basis). I also won't miss waiting for updates that are long past their due date (that come botched). With the Galaxy Nexus, I know this phone will always be at the front of the line update wise and I like the idea of having a pure Android phone. I'm also looking forward to better battery time.

I'll miss HTC Sense though, I really dig it. Although I'm sure I can customize the Prime to do just about anything Sense did (and probably more).

For me, getting rid of the 'low space error' once and for all is enough;)

Plus... i love this phone. It is time though for me to move on... Hopefully the Vigor drops soon.

I will say that the Inc section is still the All-time most posted in on AF and we have/had one of the greatest communities ALL TIME!!
From the Original Incredible thread till here recently.
All good things must end though, sadly it has been rather dead in here lately. I will always keep my eye on this section though and the people i've met along the way.

Still Incredible in my heart! :)

I had to get 3 replacement phones before I got one that didn't overhead or whatever the boot-loop bug was. In spite of that, I have always loved this phone.
The Nexus specs are drawing me in, but I am not buying anything until I can hold it in my hand and see how it fits in my pocket.
See ya'll on the other side.

Update: Sold mine to a girl off of Craigslist, got $175 for it with all my accessories. Not too shabby!

I'm also patiently (not really) awaiting a hands on with the prime. It will be a sad day sending my incredible to the retirement home.

Agreed, I'm probably not going to be a "day" one person this time for my next phone :(

The Vigor(I refuse to call it rezounds) and the Nexus Prime both sound like extremely good phones and I'm torn between them...

Like what the other people said, the size/weight of the phone are going to be features we all miss when we are someday forced to change. I tried the Dinc2 for a few days, and though objectively speaking it has improvements, it just wasn't the same.

There are some products out there that have a certain unique design that leads to having a loyal following as technology advances, and to nostalgia once the product is no longer available. This will be another such product, like the Motorola Star Tac - which phone is a relic by today's standards, and yet there has been nothing quite like it since.

Manufacturers will probably not have the guts to bring back this form factor when all the marketing "data" points to the new, larger form factor.

Yes, the iPhone now has that small form factor, but it is heavy by comparison. The Dinc is small and lightweight without feeling cheap.
