Official Twitter App for Android http://bit.ly/bFQbWy
not bad but needs some work...landscape, followers, pic options not easy to use so far. Good start.
Looks great. How can I tweet my location though?
not bad for version one. Im sure it will get better soon. Needs multi account though, unless im over looking something
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
It has a beautiful interface and is working very well. Think I might have to ditch Twidroid now
Seesmic is no more, great work on the app Twitter people.
Yep, I need multi-account too!
I love it, the interface is simple but really polished. It does everything I need it to do, but I use twitter pretty lightly.
I wish facebook would get into gear and release a more polished app. Coming from the iPhone it definitely feels watered down and "freeware". Launching to the web browser for a lot of features is bleh.
is anyone having trouble getting it to sync with existing contacts?
yeah been using this today. I love this app. I hardly used twitter lately but this app has me loving twitter again.
I absolutely love this! I kicked Seesmic to the curb instantly.
I have to say I'm surprised with how good it is. I thought it was going to be behind the curve for at least a few versions, but I'm really impressed!
Liking the new twitter app. Quick question for anyone who also uses Google Voice. When you click to share - is there anyway to add google voice to that list?
Pretty major problem... it only allows up to 15 characters in DMs!?! Surprised no-one else has reported this. Tried a restart but to no effect. I'm on HTC desire with latest firmware.
I really like it for a version one. It looks great and i love how clean and simple it is.
It looks very nice and the widget is done in the same style as the Facebook app's widget, so they look coherent when placed on the same homescreen.
As mentioned above, I second that this is a very good first release.
I am still sticking with Seesmic myself, for now, even though I have both installed.
I just sent a DM that was 100 characters.
T_T its for 2.1 though.
*beats Rogers with a stick* Gimme my upgrade!
Anyone having trouble getting it to auto sync tweets? I'm using a desire, when I set it to sync and give it a sync interval it won't save the settings. I enter them, press back then menu > settings and they are back with sync tweets unchecked.
Yes I realise this doesn't seem to be a problem for others, which is what makes it so weird. I've opened a support ticket for it.
In the meantime though I'd be interested to hear if anyone else encounters this, or if anyone has any ideas as to why it might be happening.
UPDATE: Doh I've just realised there is no bug and I've been a complete idiot! I was trying to enter text in the name field directly after the name!!! <hangs head in shame>
There are plenty of people on this site who can tell you why you are wrong to want an upgrade since 1.5 and 1.6 aren't missing out on anything.
Most tech sites are reporting that you need Android 2.1 to run this app - this is not true, I have a Motorola Milestone here in the UK running 2.0.1 (still - yeah thanks Motorola) but I could download and use the official Twitter app perfectly.
I'm still using 1.5 though. So I doubt it'd be *that* backwards compatible. Though I suppose its worth a try....
Edit: can't find it on the market or through that QR code /sad
