    How do I turn the shutter sound off when using the camera? I've looked and had a friend look & just cant figure it out.

    There is no way to turn off the shutter sound on the stock phone unless you use a third party camera app.

    if you put the phone on silent, there will be no shutter sound.

    Yes, that would work, but it maybe somewhat inconvenient to have to silence the whole handset. It would have been better if Samsung had given us the option in the first place, but alas they did not.

    No need to feel dumb mate, it's not your fault that Samsung omitted to include something that most other handsets have got.

    LOL maybe Samsung did it to deter those pervy people who take pics of women up their skirts in public.
