Thanks for the answer, can i use it as a media player (like an ipod touch)? I know that you can disable calls, but can i use wifi for browsing and other functions (gps?) ? Thanks in advance, best regards.

Yes, you can use it as a media player, although the stock video playback formats are limited to MP4 and 3GP. Yes, you can use WiFi. You can use GPS offline only if you have a GPS app that stores its maps on the card, such as CoPilot.

The Optimus V's radio interface is for a CDMA network in the 1900 MHz frequency band. Embratel and TMais Telecom operate 1900 MHz CDMA networks, so it might be made to work with those carriers.
