I've already ordered my Nexus One and hopefully it'll be arriving shortly. However I am wondering if anyone else whos previously had one shipped to Canada nows what kind of taxes/duty I'll be looking at when the guy comes to the door.

I know the phone is subject to all applicable taxes and duty but there isn't a guarantee that the item will always 100% be stopped at the border and charged, or maybe thats just my hopeful thinking :p.

In any case, I also live in Alberta so if there is a tax hit... at least its only the 5% GST, no PST here.

I just got my N1 yesterday (I live in Ottawa). The delivery guy missed me so I picked it up at their depot. The taxes and duties came to about $78. As you mentioned, yours should be a bit lower since you wont have PST.

Had one delivered yesterday in Alberta... $34 in brokerage fees, taxes, etc.

DHL guy who delivered it was more excited than I was: "DUDE! Good news, you've got a new phone!" Said he had delivered a dozen of them that day before he dropped off mine.

Nice, $34 is not bad at all... I was expecting in the $50 range.

$80 in Ontario tho.... >_< Almost seems better to order to an Alberta address and then have that person ship it to Ontario

Did anyone track their shipment progress? Mine seems to be going east (Cincinatti) while I'm out on the west coast (Victoria, BC).

Woot just got mine in today; yea mine went to Cincinnati as well which I thought was weird but it still only took 2 business days to ship to my address.

As well best of all, the DHL guy didn't ask for any tax/duty at all! He just got me to sign for the package and that was it :D
