I think this method may not be working if you have one of the newer releases (like the latest releases for boost mobile on zte site or jelly bean ROM).
I know that those are no longer working with 1-click root(which used to work great on boost mobile).
Towelroot worked very fast, no problems. Just download, click make it rain, then you have root. I think maybe you should install supersu after, I forget.
Run root checker and all is good.
