Awesome. Now how do these OTA updates work exactly? I'm new to the smartphone arena so this will be my first one... Will there be some kind of notification?

    Here's the answer:

In order to access the update, you will receive a message on your phone's notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set. This update will be rolled out gradually to phones - and most users might not receive the notification until the end of the week. We hope you enjoy these new features and look forward to your feedback.

I guess this latest update is also a way for Google to say "F-U" to Apple and Steve...

Steve was right "this google mantra of 'don't be evil' is bull$#!t" is turning out to be kind of self fulfilling... ;)

i'm not going back until a non-HTC Nexus (Two?) is available.... HTC can suck it

but i'm stoked for you guys! this is quite good news... i'm actually smiling :)

I don't even like multitouch at all but I'm glad it's there so Engadget can stop bitching about it.

And (maybe) it's a sign Google listens to it's users :)

I just got my phone today and was a little uneasy about when the fixes were gonna come. But...

Google goggles built into the camera? MT? No more 3G issues? (For areas that have 3G) Holy moly I have the best phone ever created.:D:)

For some reason they knew this was coming today because just a few hours earlier they suspended comments.

I feel shortchanged by Engadget by not allowing comments. The comment section on the OTA update would be in uproar.

this is exactly the reason why carrier-less handsets are the wave of the future... no carrier to get in the way of slowing down or preventing an OS update.... how often have carriers been either slow or reluctant to release updates... vzw, t-mo, at&t.... they're all guilty at one point or another on a multitude of devices... only apple, and now google appear to be doing it right... updates when they are needed and ready... not when some bean counter at a carrier decides so....

if you read the post it was due to them gaining readers and and not keeping up with all comments.... remember the ipad lmao!!!! the had to filter a whole new engadget because ppl are sick of apple lmao

im sure comment will be back 2moro... i think this is also because ppl were yelling at nilay in comments yesterday as well... but yes this can also be a plausable reason lmao. its the 1st multitouch android!!!! super comments GO!
