OTACERTS.zip renaming - Root Explorer says "read only"

    If you opened this up, you know what this is.
    Trying to rename the .zip to disable OTA and Root Explorer says that it's "read only".
    I am half tempted to just delete the file, but needed to ask first.

    In Root Explorer, did you tap on the "Remount as R/W" at the top? When you're done renaming, you have to tap that button again to remount as R/O.

    Rename it to OTAcerts.zip.BAK

    i hadn't done this til now, always thought on it though. guess sometimes ya just need a helpful reminder to give initiative

    Yeah, duh, lol. I didn't know about the remount. I just would rather not touch a button on a rooted phone without knowing, even with nandroid, but that in itself makes me feel better.
