With the SGS4 samsung has introduced a setuid kernel, which will block root access. you will need to flash a source compiled kernel in order to fully root.

so 1.0.3.3 is the latest release correct? also just took a notice on the following:

With the SGS4 samsung has introduced a setuid kernel, which will block root access. you will need to flash a source compiled kernel in order to fully root.

I haven't update to new firmware or received any, will I have any issues after I followed you instructions/post in here

    Thanks

you will need to add flashing a custom kernel to your list after the OTA, thats all :)

Sorry but kinda of lost... so i dont update before OTA im fine? If i update after root then i had to find a kernel - and where can I find one?

Sorry i bug you with this... On the gs3 it was kind of easier for me, this one i just want to get everything right

    Thanks again

hey shabby would your recovery be compatible with MJA and 4.3?

im running sacs 4.3 and has suggested using phils recovery but im really missing the touch screen controls of OUDHS.

    thanks in advance.

sorry, all the features of oudhs recovery were merged into regular CWM. so if you use rom manager and flash CWM latest (6.0.4.4) youll actually have a working recovery with swipe controls :)

thanks but philz doesnt seem to have the same control as oudhs: swipe left to go back and swipe right to select which i miss.

unless im missing something in settings. ive looked and tried the options under Gesture Actions Settings while having Touch GUI set to full with no luck.
