    i'm thinking about overclocking my gs2 just to see what it's like;
    but I don't wanna do it if it drains my battery too fast,
    Can anyone tell me how battery life is like after an Overclock?

    Moving this to the all things root section.

    Good Luck!

    is not only about the overclock

    the idea is OC + UV (undervolting)
    if you pass less voltage to the processor, it consumes less battery, so you're kind of getting it even =)

    the golden question is: you need to change the kernell to do that... which one are you gonna use? you need to flash it, and every flash has a different battery life :p

    i'm using cognition and this one does NOT allow you to OC it

    Thanks for you response!!
    At this point, i'm not sure. I'm really enjoying gs2 as is, but just for fun wanted to experience what other side is like. 1.6 gets well over 4k in quadrant, which is darn impressive. (for some reason my gs2 struggles to go beyond 3k, maybe too many widgets?)

    I am running unnamed and am overclocked. It is way better performance at 1.6 than I was getting at 1.2. Battery life is not bad. I am just about to wrap up a full day at work and I still have 60% battery left.

    Running CM7 here, OC'ed to 1.6, was not stable. 1.4 was more stable, but did not notice too much of a performance increase from 1.2. At 1.4, I would get 14+ hours of mild/moderate use (i.e. screen time on ~1.5 hrs.)

    You can use Tegrak Overclock to safely overclock your GS II, without a custom ROM. My International GS II is similar. I have it clocked to 1.452Ghz and here is the result.

    What did you set your voltage to?

    I didn't change any voltages. (Can't with the free version of Tegrak.)

    Just click on Max CPU speed, then click again and it will give you choices up to 1.452Ghz.
