    Hi guys

I believe the 'Package Installer' is the thing that allows me to install apps?

I've only just noticed it in my 'manage applications' - I'm sure it never used to appear at the top of the list - and I'm tight on memory - so when it takes up 13mb as it does now I'm a bit stuck.

Can I click 'clear data' on it - or will that remove apps? There is no option to clear cache - all 13mb is listed in the Data.

if you clear data it will just be like the 1st time you use it ... for example i clear data on market app and it just asks me to accept when i use it like it was the 1st time i used it with all my downloads still present and all in working order . it will not remove app

Hi - thanks for that. But if I do clear data on the 'package installer' what does it actually do?? What does the package installer actually do? I need the mb space you see - but only if it doesn't screw something up??

    Cheers :)

It's used to install apps, so removing it isn't advised.
