I'm sure some of you know about the poor quality issue regarding 2.2 and pandora's high quality. Has this been addressed at all? I had to make the move back to 2.1 because I listen to pandora all the time but even set at high quality, it sounds like garbage. I want to go back to froyo, but hopefully this gets fixed in the official update :(

Could be the rom you flashed? Pete just came out with BB.04 which is neodexed and is running like silk. Listened to Pandora today for 5 hours and no problems.

I just rooted last night running BB .4 and I noticed some songs on Pandora sounded like AM radio. Switched to high quality and haven't noticed again... yet.

I'll update in a little bit after I upgrade back to 0.4. I'll wipe data and cache and see if that helps.

Update: I flashed to 0.4 Bugless Beast and still having the same issue. When I hook it up to my car stereo, it just sounds tinny and terrible. High quality sounds exactly like normal. Something tells me the high quality mode isn't kicking in or something. I really hope this gets fixed :(

I was having these issues with Slacker when I tried running Froyo. It seems like Slacker was both streaming and caching very low bitrate audio files (my ears tell me it was about 32 kbps AAC+).

Once I downgraded to 2.1, Slacker sounded excellent again.

My guess is that Froyo is not reporting the proper device name to the Slacker/Pandora service. Because Slacker/Pandora does not recognize the device, the servers are not aware of the device's capabilities and revert to lower quality streams.

I've noticed this as well. I'm going to try switching to "high quality" later to see if that helps.

I was just thinking about this issue this morning since some of the other threads describing this I've subscribed to have died.

Since Froyo is officially starting to roll out this week, what will happen with this? Are we waiting for a Pandora update, or is this something Google has to fix?

can't beieve i've been holding out for froyo for so long, and i'm still going to have to root the phone to make it functional!

does anybody know if this problem is likely to be addressed in FRG22?
