Payment Paranoia

I recently bought a Desire and loving the free apps and games but I'd like to pay for the good ones now and give them a little support.

To pay though it takes me to a Google payment screen where I need to input my CC details directly onto the phone. I'm not a total tecnophobe and I'm used to entering my card details online, but never before on my mobile and in the past I always get taken to a secure site first.

I realise I'm probably being a bit paranoid but are there any security issues with entering card details directly onto your mobile? Why don't I have an option just to download the app/game onto my mobile and have it billed to my provider, T-Mobile as extra downloaded content?

Any thoughts/ressurance would be appreciated

Thanks!
