I just got the Incredible yesterday (moving from the Motorola Droid) and cannot find the place on it to schedule peak times for email. On the Droid I was able to tell it to check my company Outlook email every 5 minutes but only from 7:00AM - 8:00PM every day.

I have looked all over the Incredible and through the forums and can't find a place to select Peak Times. Is this something that HTC chose not to activate within Android?

I'm pretty sure that this is not an option. (I've looked for it as well) I switched over from a win mo phone and that was a nice feature to have. I'm with you I don't need to pull email at night when I'm sleeping.

I'm sure there are programs you can download that will help you with this....possibly "touchdown" ~ I've heard good things about it.

Great question! I too had a WinMo phone and am wondering why Android doesn't have this feature.

I have looked for this also options to type of server but I unable to find any such setting. I have touchdown and like it there are many option on this app. I think the only thing I like about the HTC version is that I could see the email without opening.

I'd love to know this too. I'd love to go one further and have such a system to go quiet for all notifications during certain hours.

From the inbox view on the Evo, it's menu-more-settings-send&receive-schedule. Can't say for the Incredible.

Check out the android market for an app called "profile" It will allow you to set up all kinds of time based profiles.

Pretty nice app. Used it for like a week a now.

Not there for me. I can set download frequency, and I have it set to 'As items arrive.'

This looks very close to what I want. Too bad there isn't a way to silence different email accounts. For example, when I leave work @ 5 turn off my Exchange sync, but leave GMail up until 10pm.

    Touchdown does support peak/off-peak settings.

If you are a heavy exchange user, it's so much of an improvement over the stock email.

If you use a program like Touchdown, can you still use the HTC Calendar? One thing I love is having my work calendar (Exchange) and my personal calendar (GMail) in one view.

Your touchdown contacts can be seen in the phone contacts, but I don't think you can do the same for calendar.

You might be able to auto sync your exchange calendar with google cals. Then you have one view.

If you go to menu>settings>Accounts & sync> tap Exchange ActiveSync, then you should see the Schedule option, just tap that to set your schedule.

They added this feature in one of the updates a while back. I can't believe that it was missing in the first place. Thanks for the post! I don't think any of us ever came back to update it.
