Root [International] PhilZ CWM Recovery - Dummies Guide

A nice retro recovery you're using there.....

After my experiences in post #112, I decided to err on the side of caution when moving from Android 4.2.2 to 4.3 and since my previous backups were on the retro version, I decided to stay there. Laziness on my part really as I haven't checked out the latest recoveries. How is everyone finding them?

PhilZ Recovery 5.18.9 is up! :)

"- add option to disable all nags on exit (root, flash recovery)
- add menu to root system and verify recovery
- code clean-up

Hope this will satisfy complaints from root nag
However, I think it is good that ROM makers fix their root things for 4.3 properly instead of disabling the feature
It is enabled by default, turn off at your wish

It shouldn't cause any issues in changing the name of backups should it. I'm used to TWRP allowing you to create a name before starting the backup. I like to use the date, ROM, and kernel as the backup name. Just thought I'd ask as I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

Thanks :)

No problem. Just don't use any spaces

PhilZ Recovery 6.00.5 is up! :)

"This is an important update. The random negative time bug on backups ended to be a memory overflow issue. I strongly advise to update your recovery. Took me a while to figure this
I also removed useless entries from mounts and storage menu

Please, do your best to debug this version and test all that you can
Report any non expected issue, even if seems non important. A small glitch can hide a huge bug

Now waiting for the wrath of the ferrite posterior....

"If a job is worth doing... it's worth doing, well!" :hmpf:

(I would enlist Syd's support but the last time anyone saw him, he had a bumper box of fireworks and someone had given him a box of matches! :ahhhhh:)

HEEELLLLLOOOOO again.

Am back.

Thank goodness for that! I was about to send Hawker into your cave and poke you out of hibernation with a stick.

Latest version working perfectly so far for me, no more of that annoying restore root question on rebooting from recovery either.....

Every time I try and do a backup from ROM Manager on the latest PhilZ's I get...

E:unknown volume for path [/external_swd/clockworkmod/backup/ date+time

Looks like its back to good old PhilZ 5.15.8.
