Help Phone Not Reading SD CARD!!

I just got my new htc desire and i have put in the micro sd card that came with it and i turn the phone on but it doesnt think there is one in there. So i took it out and tried putting in another one i allready had and it still doesnt think there is one in the phone!

Anyone know what is wrong?

i have a samsung galaxy s i9000 so i dont know your menus or settings but try
settings > sd card and storage> and select mount sd card if it says unmount sd card its already mounted so unmount then mount it again.
when you turn your phone on it should mount automatically.
if this does not work you need to factory reset your phone google factory reset htc desire, that should fix the problem
