phone wont charge

Hi, my phone was working fine last night. I recently plugged in my phone and im getting a green light like its charging. but the battery symbol wont turn on. i cant turn on the phone. i tried taking out the battery and it wont turn on . its been on the charger for all day. i also took out the battery and try turning on the phone and it wont turn on. the green light symbol is still on while im doing this.

what should i do whats the problem?
