Hi. Sorry for the long thread name.
I got a HTC legend yesterday, and i tried out the phone. Really awesome phone, and its even cooler that its based on linux kernel. It is my first toutch-screen mobile.

Anyway. I surfed the web, and multitasked. It got pretty hot, but it all worked good.

Then i tried google for: "iphone porn" ...It worked to watch. Then i surfed news sites and soo on, and then i fell asleep.
But before i fell asleep and i have slept really bad. 2-3 hours this night and like 6 hours all week. I dont know...

But i got a text message from some number. That thanked me for surfing in to their site. I got it 3 times, but did not reply because i thought it would cost money. I dont know how they got my number thou...

All im trying to say is that maybe there is a virus that has done this too my new phone with a black screen ;)

But i think it is hardware that may have brooked. It was today, when i got a call early/late night and could not fell asleep after that..
Then i just send a text message, it worked. Then i went into a site, wimp.com and tried to click a link. (its a video site)
Then the phone hanged, the screen freezed and i took out the battery, and restarted it. Then the screen was/are black.

I hear the welcome sound, but i cant go further. I did not try to connect it to the computer yesterday, so i dont know how it looks. But when i try that now i get a removable disk. But when i click on it, it says:
Please put in a disk in unit x: ...its in swedish.

But maybe some of you experts here know what can be wrong?
Should i flash it with new software etc etc?

What would you have done? im totally new to android and this phone.

I searched and found this before..

    ----

Performing a factory reset (hard reset)

If you're passing your phone on to someone else or your phone has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can do a factory reset (also called a hard reset). This returns your phone to the state it was in before the first time you turned it on.
Note: Factory reset will not remove the data and files that are in your phone
