Photos gone!!!! WTH

Had my uprade to ics on my maxx yesterday. When the phone rebooted all of my pics were gone!!!! 700 of them just vanished! I had backed my phone up about 5 weeks prior but had a lot of baseball tourney pics that were not backed up just poof and gone. Any hope???

The update to ICS should have not touched files that were on your SD Card.

Have you tried to put the SD card into a computer and see if the pictures show up there? Or tried plugging your phone into your computer and see if you can see them there?

Is it just the Gallery that isn't seeing the pictures?

Yeah I hooked my phone up this morning and nothing. I know that it shouldn't have but they were all gone when it came back up. I have not added any programs to my phone so that is the only "change".
My comp does not have an SD port so I have to get a friends comp to check it on.

Check that out and verify the SD card is in fact empty.

Seems very strange to me that all the photos would disappear like that. AFAIK the ICS update should ONLY touch internal memory and nothing on your SD card.

Maybe someone can chime in with something similar happening to them and hopefully they found a solution.

In the meantime, can you try downloading QuickPic or a File Explorer from the market and see if either of those applications see your pictures on /sdcard folder.

I downloaded quickpic and it doesn't show any pics although I have taken some since and the settings on my camera stores photos to my SD card. My gallery shows the newest ones but that's it.

Download something like ES File Explorer and navigate to /sdcard and see if you see older files in there or other data on the SD Card.

Are the pictures the only thing you are missing?

So far the only thing that I have noticed is the missing pics

In trying a little harder I have plugged my phone back into comp and in MOT (F) DCIM - .thumbnails I found about half of them....?????

Just kept digging and now found some in a LOST.DIR as well

Maybe DCIM/Camera or DCIM/100Android I believe are two folder names?
