Is there a way to hide photos that are in the gallery? I can't figure a way to either hide them or move them to where you cannot view them when selecting the photo gallery.

Welcome to the forums! And congrats on getting an amazing phone.

If you change the name of a picture so that the first character is a period, it will not show it in the Media app.

Ex: Original name is myPicture.jpg, change it to .myPicture.jpg

It also works if you do this to the name of a folder. You can do this either through a file manager app on the device itself (like Astro) or by mounting the card on your computer and going through there.

Or u can download and use launcher pro. That gives u the options to hide those pictures from your wife.
If you have it already go here:
Menu button/preferences/general settings/hide apps. Now choose that gallery icon and hide those pictures!

I think the OP was looking to hide certain pictures and not the entire gallery

Use the new free app Vaulty, available in the marketplace. You can choose which pictures and videos you want to show up in the gallery. You can even password protect the content you hide if you want to. It works like a charm! Did I mention it's free?

Cool, I never knew that. Does this also work with music & videos? I knew of putting the .nomedia file into the folder and the media player/gallery wouldn't detect it.

Photo Safe is another free app that lets you store pictures that are password protected and not viewable in the media gallery.

Yes, and yes. It's basically a default Linux thing for any file. Though huh, didn't know that about .nomedia. Yay for trading information!

LOL. Why would you want to hide pictures? Did some girl send you nudes and you don't want your spouse seeing? If so, kudos to you. If not, that's a shame.
