Previously (in the old 1.5 days) you could not send MMS picture mail when WiFi was on - it is only sent via the mobile network and the phone could not figure out how to switch when it needed to. This was to have been fixed with the 2.1 update.

if you hit Menu~Settings and your menu has colored icons, you have 2.1

If you haven't done it, you don't have it. Go to settings and check what firmware you are using.

if you want to get more specific, menu~settings~about phone~software info, and look at the firmware version. If you don't have 2.1 got to HTC's site or Sprint.com/downloads and download the update package.

CAUTION: Doing the update wipes the phone back to factory settings. Make sure you know your gmail login settings to get you contacts back, or use a contact backup program. Lookout mobile security will backup your contacts

There are several who aren't able to get the update yet. Alaska Communications Systems has told us maybe June. There are other smaller carriers who have not yet received the update.
