Root Please help cant install custom roms

I cant seem to install any rom in cwm it always seems to install fine but when i reboot device it stays at the white htc screen forever and it does not change what am i doing wrong? white htc vivd

I think there are only a couple Rom's out for the HTC Vivid.What Rom are you trying to install?
The super guide over at XDA may help.

i was trying to install the holiraider rom... never did get it to boot past the white htc screen... i got so frustrated that i sold the phone on ebay. im getting a phone with more develpment.
