please please help!!! :`(

I got a nexus 7 as a gift a few days ago. It was working properly but yesterday the Google play app (the white shopping bag icon app) stopped working... as in, when I select the app to open, it says 'sorry Google play has stopped working'... I dont know what to do.... my Wi-Fi is strong and all other apps are working except this.... now I can't download anything at all - even from chrome.... can anyone please please tell me what to do....

Hi Jenny, and welcome to AF

Have you tried going into the Manage Applications menu, All Apps (not Downloaded), select Play Store and try clearing the cache?

If that doesn't work you could try "clear data" in the same place, but I'd try cache first.

I tried clearing the cache...but it still didn't work...I tried 'disable app' and then after sometime enabled it...that seemed to do the trick! I'm so happy! Thanks a lot for taking time off to help...I appreciate it!!!
