Pop up redirects on my browser.

My browser gets redirected to sites like mobgifts.org and other .org sites at least once a day of late. They start with a pop up window that redirect to these strange ads. It always happens on legit sites like imdb and youtube. It's terrifying me because my mother as well as I have used our personal bank cards on my phone. What is this? I have never downloaded an app or even opened the android market so I couldn't have gotten malware from that.

It seems to be a clever popup in internet.
