Creative X-Fi Fatality Champion Pro soundcard
Antec H20 920 Kuler liquid cooler
Coolermaster Silent Pro 700 Watt PSU
Wiring looks crap but I have tidied it up recently
I've posted this in another thread before, but this is the rig I built last year with a CPU I originally bought 3 years ago but then could not get enough money together to finish the build.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T @ 3.5GHz
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme 3
GPU1: XFX 6850 Black Edition @ 860MHz/1200MHz
GPU2: Gigabyte 6850 Windforce @ 860MHz/1200MHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 16GB (4x4GB) @ 1600MHz
Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 Hydro CPU Cooler
PSU: Cooler Master GX 750W
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
im totally posting my completed(well almost) rig tomorrow. actually had a G+ hangout session of me putting it together and the director for apples CIS department showed up. i know, right... i made fun of him. anyways here is my G+ page to see some of what i worked with audioSoulja... o and tman, kinston has some decent priced SSDs for your OS to run on so you dont have to worry about your reg HDDs crashing later on ... 20K hr life expectancy compared to 1,000,000 on SSDs. set it up to where your HDD will shut off when not in use after like 3 to 5 mins and with that much ram your good to go
I'll try and post my rig later (built 2 years ago, my first build) though looking though this thread I feel I may have went overboard on the heatsink...
Newegg.com - Thermaltake Frio Overclocking-Ready Intel Core i7 (six-core ready) & i5 Compatible Five 8mm Heatpipes Dual 120mm Fans Intel & AMD Universal CPU Cooler CLP0564
My rig is in a constant state of rebuilding but for cooling I went with the Antec H20 920 mainly because it was so low profile. Initially it had a problem with the clicking noise common to these liquid coolers but eventually the noise stopped. My next rebuild may be LGA 2011 but I will probably keep the cooler.
Here is my post apocalyptic computer .......looks like shit but runs like hell
Christ. What did you do, set it on fire?
This is my current rig it has a micro atx board because I upgraded in steps and my old case was a micro case.
Case Antec One Illusion
i5-3570k stock speed still working on voltages
Coolermaster Hyper 212+ 120mm Cooling on CPU
Asrock z77 pro 4-m mobo
Thermaltake TR2 430 watt PSU
2x4gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 ram
OCZ Vertex 90gb ssd
Western Digital Cavier Black 1tb HDD
Sapphire ATI 5830 HD (picked up for only $40 so I said "why not?") also thinking maybe I should move that down to the bottom slot.
No its paint....a combination of black, silver and red with different painting styles
What are the specs of that rig?
It is a Ipex 200
Which has an intel p4 2.4 ghz that I have overclocked to 3 ghz
Ram was 512 meg but upped to 2 gig
Other than that it is basically stock but fast for it's age
Os is Windows 7 Dark with terminator and alien media player
I mainly posted shots for the post apocalyptic style paint work (everyone says it looks like it's been in a fire) even my friends
It def looks like its been thru a fire. What are the wires hanging around the front and that thing that lools like a switch?
No pics yet , but I started my build yesterday. Need to sort out cable management and the software side of things...
Finished da build!!!! Can't backup as I don' thave anything big enough for a 34GB backup
CPU : i5 3750K ( Standard Clock/Cooler)
Mobo: Asus P8Z77 V-LX
RAM : 8GB Corsair Vengeance ( Should have got the blue ones! )
PSU: Corsair TX750W V2
GPU: Intel Integrated 4000 ( I know. I know. )
HDD: WD Black Caviar 1TB [ anyone else find this really noisy]
Case: Cm Storm Enforcer w/ stock cooling on silent mode with Fan Xpert+
Keyboard/Mouse : [Getting] Microsoft Comfort 5000 / Logitech MK520?
Monitor : [Getting] Some kind of 24" 1080p....
The red wire has a fuze in the centre the black wire has contact points .....it also has a heat sinc screwed to the case and it did have an oversize cooling fan ....which has since been removed
For some reason the Asus AI Suite II wont recognise my front case fan's RPM anymore? It shows in yellow text ( I assume this means it's connected) but I can still control it in Fan Xpert+
Lets see some pics!
I'll upload tomorrow after school. - In low light my DHD won't take good pictures
What are some good temps for idle and load for the CPU and mobo? Wanna try out Fan Xpert+
And would the Intel integrated graphics benefit from my mobo's gpu boost features?
I just bought the i5-3570k also and put it on an Asrock z77 Pro-4M mobo. Did you buy an aftermarket cooler or are you using stock? Good idle temps are right at 30c in my opinion not more but obviously less is ok.
Standard cooler. Getting under 35 on the "silent" fan mode.
Mabye the wrong place to post this but could I remove the hard drive from my laptop and put it in my desktop? I assume SATA speeds are faster than usb 2 one way and usb 3 another...
SATA connections are standard across the board, you can use the same cables as you would a desktop drive to connect a laptop drive in a desktop.
Separate names with a comma.
