Problem usb while installing rom

Hey,

After finally figuring out what caused the problem with syncing my phone to my laptop (taskiller was to blame) i tried to install the t-mobile 2.73 rom update. It all went well untill the message came up that the usb device wasn't recognized. Now nothing works, i've tried re-installing htc sync & htc drivers, but it's still not recognized... I can't even mount my sd-card
anyone?

btw, i'm running on 32-bit windows xp
