Help Problem with latest update

For some reason I can't seem to install the recent maintenance update. I've been notified three times, but each time I try to install it either hangs at the rebooting screen (before shutdown, not during) or says your phone will reboot, but doesn't and the screen just goes away.

My Kernel version is still:
2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1

Any thoughts?

I'm not completely knowledgeable, but curious if you are rooted? If so, maybe that has something to do with it?

Should have added that - I am not rooted anymore. I was, then unrooted and reinstalled Froyo.

I've been having the exact same problem, have posted about it on here, and have so far not received any help. It's extremely frustrating and would like to know how to rectify it so that I can just get the update over with, even though I have no desire to have that vcast bloatware on my phone.
