Help Problem with message centre number

Hey
Got a HTC desire but having problems entering the message centre number.
Every time I enter the number and go back the main menu and go back the message settings it has not saved.
Confirmed with T-Mobile that the number is correct but they couldnt help me further.

I am having the same problem. the sms center number doesnt seem get saved.
Has anyone found a fix?
