Help Problem with update

Hope someone has the answers.
Husband tried to update magic ota yesterday. it appeared to stop halfway and since then we have had problems, cannot access home screen or apps. When you go to home screen it say Force close. The application open home ( process com.better android open home 2) has stopped unexpectedley please try again. when we force close it just comes up again. Can't do factory reset as we can't access home page. Have tried removing battery .

Sounds like open home is conflicting with the 1.6 update. To fix this do the following:

1) Turn the phone off
2) Hold the MENU button
3) Press the POWER button
4) Keep holding the menu button until the phone boots in safe mode (identified by the words "Safe Mode" in transparent letters in the bottom left of the screen). Safe mode prevents any third party apps from running, for here you can access the "manage applications" option from settings>applications and remove open home.
5) Reboot the phone as you would normally - the phone should now boot successfully.
6) Check the Market for an updated version of Open Home (you could check the market for the new version of Open home whilst in safe mode prior to uninstalling if you prefer)

I wanted to uninstall as well.

I did a safe-boot and then went to uninstall the Open Home. But I only have a force stop option.

What do I do??
