Note: This is not me, but somebody on Flickr (Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire... on Flickr - Photo Sharing!)

He was disappointed with the battery life on his slim 1750mAh battery he purchased from Seidio. So what does he do? Opens it up and discovers the battery cell inside is 1530mAh.

So for $50 you get a 2% increase in battery capacity instead of the claimed 16.7%.

Isn't there a Seidio rep that is active on these forums? Maybe he can explain why the company is lying to its customers.

Frankly, this disgusts me, and while I was looking forward to the Innotraveler dock there is no way I will ever purchase anything from this company.

Well, well, well...so Seido is just a scam. I've heard few confirmations from customers that their batteries ever performed better than the OEM batteries, now we know why. I wonder if the FTC would like to know about this?

That is why I only trust OEM batteries.

Too much shady business in the battery world. Especially because there is no standardized/universal way to test these batteries.

Its a shame Seidio did this. I had respect up until this point.

Do a google search for that part number and you will see products ranging from 1300 mAh to 3300 mAh so I don't think it actually correlates to the cell size or capacity.

Based on the very suspect performance of the battery, I would say that the evidence supports the fact that it is, at best, only 1530 Mah. Also, the only one I saw claiming to be the same part number, with 3000 mah capacity, was an oversized battery that required a special battery cover.

    Are you referring to this?

    Extended Battery with Cover For PHAROS US454261 A8T Li-Polymer 3000Mah - US454261 A8T

It's obviously physically bigger than the 1300-1530 cells of same part number, I imagine they just put two cells in one battery.

I couldn't find any slim cells higher than 1530.

I noticed a significant jump in capacity over the OEM battery. Definitely not a 2% increase.

There must be more to this than meets the eye.

If Seidio did this (which it does look like, according to the pictures), I would think that they know that they would be ripe for a consumer fraud lawsuit. Based on that assumption, I would agree with cesjr...must be more to this.
