Just wondering if there can ever be a protective case made for the Droid. I understand it is a slider and I've never had a slider before. Done a google search and came up with nothing.

Thanks ahead of time for the replies

I have the silicongel cover and I love it. It is soft enough that you can still push the volume and camera buttons through it (you have to know where they are) but rubbery so it will protect in a fall. It is a two piece cover so it doesn't block the slider.

I saw that Verizon has one that is pink but I'm just not a pink kind of girl. I have the black and it looks classy to me. (If I was a "girly-girl", I wouldn't be drawn to a phone that has been said to appeal mainly to men aged 18-35.)

I also got the silicon gel cover and as everyone has said, I love it too. Often I find that the cases launched with a phone aren't too great, in this case I am happy it's an exception.

    1. It fits the device perfect!
    2. I love how the silicone covers the volume and camera buttons, it gives them a better feel too. They were my one area of concern with my Droid, especially the camera button because it wasn't very solid and had some play. With this case that play is gone and the buttons feel great.
    3. The surface is sort of rubberized and textured which provides excellent grip and what seems would be good impact protection.
    4. On the back the necessary areas are cut perfectly. The camera sits below the level of the case which means it will be difficult for it to rub or scratch on anything-perfect!
    5. I though it would negatively affect the slider and while it did tighten it up a bit I kind of like it more than without the case.
    6. It's a slick looking case. I got mine in black but saw another lady with pink and it looked good too.

As you can tell I really like this case. I was in my Verizon store today and it was sold out so apparently other people are liking it as well.

That's the black one at Verizon Wireless for $17, right? I've been looking all over town for that case but the only one any Verizon store seems to have is the clear blue one.

edit: I actually just got a text from a girl at one of the Verizon stores. She let me know they just got a shipment in and that she would text back when everything is checked in and let me know if the case came in. Hopefully they do and I'll go pick it up when I go next door to gamestop to get COD:MW2

Yes, $16.99 at the Verizon Store. Coming from the iPhone ecosystem that is just plain ridiculously cheap for such a nice case. Would easily be a $39.99 price tag at the Apple Store, believe me I paid for more iPhone cases than I care to admit.

what sucks with the cases is that you can't fit them on the multimedia dock

Anyone using the hard plastic cover or the silicone cover AND the holster? Are there even any covers (or holsters) available that allow use of the two simultaneously?

I just found what I'm looking for on the Seidio website -- a soft/silicone type cover and a holster that fits! Innocase Surface. Anyone try either of these? A bit pricey, but if they work well it'd be worth it.

I got the silicon gel cover that everyone likes. My only complaint is that the bottom piece won't completely fit. All the edges will snap into place except for the top right corner (where the led is) for the bottom piece.

The small rubber tab to hold it in place won't fit in place. which causes the corner to fall out of place and eventually try to take the bottom piece off.
