My bromigo has the HTC Incredible, and he has rooted the phone, but would like to install a plain, vanilla 2.2 ROM. No sense, nothing custom. Just pure 2.2 like on a Nexus 1. Can anyone point me in that direction so he can get it done? I have searched the forum, but have not found anything relevant to my interests. I don't think he wants a custom ROM just yet. Thanks for whatever help you can offer.

CyanogenMod 6.0.2 and 6.1 RC2 are really feature-packed but somewhat buggy. Ruby 1.1.1 is pretty basic, but very stable. ShadowROM is buggy and has no keyboard, so don't bother. I haven't tried Lithium Mod, but I've heard good things. If you don't want to fool with it, try Ruby under cvpcs on ROM Manager, if you want lots of features and are willing to deal with bugs, crashing, reboots, etc. to get cool stuff, try CyanogenMod 6.1 RC2.

To answer the OP's question, I just downloaded Ruby 1.1.1 and it seems like pure vanilla android. Not sure how stable it is, but i will up date if you like...
