I'm considering reverting back to my carrier's Rom which was originally on it when I first got the phone, due to the excessive battery drain with the Villain 5.3.

Do I need to load the generic 1.5 Rom before I do that? And will reverting unroot the phone?

Another consideration though. Could it be using the apps2sd facility which is causing the extra battery drain?

I think I'be just figured out the problem. WiFi was on, but I didn't realise without the widget that was on the stock Rom.

I couldn't get away with a widget that wasn't "visual" either.

Do a search in Market for "curvefish" ... they do free widgets that are cool little icons that have coloured switches to instantly show whats on and whats not.

OMG  That is awesome Jaffa, never knew that existed! I have only had Villain5.2 a few days, and there is so much new in 2.1. Nice one!

Goodbye curvefish widgets, hello stock power widget :D

Aren't the WiFi widgets the same on 1.5 and 2.1?

They weren't for me. I used to have icons (widgets?) that were grey/black in colour and visually switched. I couldn't find them in Villain5.2, but I thought that was a 2.1 improvement ... the new icons were colourful, but they took you to the "settings", not turned stuff on/off.

The Android Power widget is exactly what I wanted in the first place. If it existed in 1.5, I never knew it was there :D
