    Hi
I'm thinking of rooting my android using unrevoked simply so I can uninstall some of the stock apps that came with the phone (Google Talk, Peep, etc). I was wondering whether after rooting the phone it'll still be able to update to the official froyo when it comes out? I'd rather stick with the official stuff than use a rom, so it can still automatically update etc without me having to keep an eye out for the latest and best roms.

    Thanks for any help :)

if your intending to use the OTA ( over the air ) updates, i'd stick with the phone as it is now and not root it.

Ah, ok, I'll just leave it as it is for now then. Thanks for the advice! :)

I was lead to believe by rooting your phone using the Unrevoked3 method, it rooted your existing stock ROM so any OTA updates would still install.

I my be wrong but I've read it a few times on a few different forums including this one.

Only time will tell I suppose. ;)
