I was running Quadrant Standard app to benchmark my Epic 4G and have some insight on what it can do and how good can it do it.

While checking the specs of the phone, the app reports that the Epic 4G has an ARM v7 processor rev 2 (v7l) @ 800 Mhz (capable of 1GHz)... $amsung says that we have a Cortex v8 Hummingbird processor @ 1Ghz so the question is what do we really have and how fast is it really going???

I see data for other phones like the I9000 Galaxy S and it clearly states that it has a Cortex v8 Hummingbird processor @ 1Ghz. Did we get ripped off? or does the app just not read the specs of the phone right?

Mine says 1000 Mhz... But I've seen it say 800 Mhz. It just depends on what you're doing at that precise moment. If you scroll and quickly check it again, it will surely read 1000 Mhz

Same difference. Samsung just renamed it. I believe that our processor is a very close relative with the Apple Ip4.
